Ben Roethlisberger
July 22, 2009*Sigh* Either way this turns out, its a sad day. I used to like Big Ben. This court case sounds eerily similar to Kobe Bryant a few years back. According to reports, he asked her to come fix the sound system in his room. When they were alone, she claims he sexually assaulted her. I don’t have much to say but this is a sad story whether it is true or false. Appears to be a lot of info breaking here, here, and here.

I Love Love Love Sports
July 16, 2009
I Love the Heisman Trophy Too
I Love sports. From baseball to basketball and over to Europe for soccer, I love sports. From batting averages to last second sacks and ineligible receivers, I love sports. How could you not? I live this stuff everyday and just wanted to point out how much sports impact our lives. There’s always a major game going on somewhere in the world.

Badwater Ultramarathon
July 14, 2009
I guess today is just one of those days when extreme sports is all I hear about. The second installment today is about the Badwater Ultramarathon. According to their official website, the event is “[r]ecognized globally as “the world’s toughest foot race,” this legendary event pits up to 90 of the world’s toughest athletes – runners, triathletes, adventure racers, and mountaineers – against one another and the elements. Covering 135 miles (217km) non-stop from Death Valley to Mt. Whitney, CA in temperatures up to 130F (55c), it is the most demanding and extreme running race offered anywhere on the planet.”
What a sick race!! Good luck to everyone who is involved in such a feat.
Ooops, I almost forgot about shameless self promotion. If you care anything about sports, be sure to look at getting some trophies for your sports league whether it is basketball, baseball, football, or 130+ mile marathons.

NCAA Trophy
March 23, 2009
NABC NCAA Trophy
This trophy has been called the Siemens Trophy and commonly referred to as the NCAA Trophy. The beautiful crystal basketball trophy is given to the top-ranked team in its end-of-season coaches’ poll, which is almost always the NCAA championship game winner. This trophy is presented by the NABC or The National Association of Basketball Coaches. Note that this is not the same as the NCAA’s own trophy which is awarded separately.

Curt Shilling Retires on 38 pitches
March 23, 2009Curt Shilling (not Kurt Shilling) has officially announced his retirement on his blog today. You can check out his Curt Schilling Blog for some more information but I’ve copied some below for you to read:
“Turn out the lights, the party’s over”…
Four World Series, three World Championships. That there are men with plaques in Cooperstown who never experienced one — and I was able to be on three teams over seven years that won it all — is another “beyond my wildest dreams” set of memories I’ll take with me.
Bye Curt.
